I am a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Yale University.

My research examines the determinants of national identity, attitudes towards the nation, and nationalism and centers on multinational contexts.

In my current book project, Nurturing Independentism. Movements and Parties in Secessionist Context, I seek to understand the cooperation, cooptation, and confrontation relationships between pro-independence movements and parties and their impact on individuals' support for independence.

I am also interested in the relationship between the economy and nationalism. My research draws on experimental and observational data to study the influence of economic crises on national attitudes and the effect of diversionary nationalism on individual assessments of the economy.
